We’re at Indiecon 2026 in Hamburg!

This is our second time presenting Dach Magazine at one of the biggest festivals for independent publishing. This time, we also hosted a writing workshop, “Let’s Write Together,” around the rather crazy theme of “The Flying Dog.” The results turned out to be wonderfully diverse. Here’s one of the works created during the workshop:

I think I saw something.

— Where?

— Over there?

— Where?

— There.

Her finger stretches out like a long pointer, indicating a southwesterly direction. Only Dog, ahem, God knows where that is. Maria heard a rustle. Brrrrr.

But more from the cold than from fear. The ground beneath her sneakers was damp, even though the roof of the former hangar — Gleishalle Oberhafen — held firm above them.

It had been raining in Hamburg all day, sometimes beating down like a drum, sometimes holding back in a pause of great anticipation, only to break out again: BAM-BAM-BAM against the roof. All the participants and visitors would tense up and duck their heads, trying to pull them into their shoulders like turtles retreating into their shells.

Rrrrrr.

This time it wasn’t the cold. The sound itself was coming from those southwestern bushes.

The group from the writing workshop turned around.

There, standing on short little legs, was a dachshund.

That’s what happens when you come to write hungry. All you can think about is a hot dog.

We were so happy to work with so many enthusiastic participants and see where their imaginations would take them.

And once again, we’re very happy to be part of such a wonderful community as Indiecon. ❤️
